Charles Turner is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Political Science at the University of Utah. His research interests include the ways in which Muslims engage in American politics as well as the evolution of white identity politics in American history. His current research projects include measuring state legislators' support for anti-Shariah legislation and systematically studying how negative stereotypes of Shariah have evolved over the past decade. Outside of academia, Charles has served as the Muslim Life Coordinator at the University of Richmond, the Youth Director at the Islamic Center of Virginia, and has taught at numerous Islamic schools in central Virginia.
